Sacred Sadness

finding the all-encompassing love of Christ through grief

It’s okay to cry.

Grief is not easy work. It is unpredictable, and each day holds it’s own unknowns.

Yet deep loss - whether it comes through external forces or personal choice - can move us to set aside our false selves, and our own “trying” - as we seek a comfort greater than we can offer ourselves.

The truth is actually a relief: we were not made to be enough for ourselves.

We were made for God.

If we call out to Christ in our insufficiency - not religion, but the real, living, person of Jesus Christ - we will be saved out of our despair, and wrapped in the all-encompassing comfort and love of God.

Healing, forgiveness, peace, & joy are ours in the arms of this Wonderful Counselor, the Prince of Peace - whose love is strong enough to save us, and who breathes new life into our weariness and gives us new dreams.

Grief & loss may be a part of this broken world, but they are not the end of the story.

A Blessing for Traveling in the Dark

- by Jan Richardson

Go slow
If you can.
Slower.
More slowly still.
Friendly dark
or fearsome,
this is no place
to break your neck
by rushing,
by running,
by crashing into
what you cannot see.

Then again,
it is true:
different darks
have different tasks,
and if you
have arrived here unawares,
if you have come
in peril
or in pain,
this might be no place
you should dawdle.

I do not know
what these shadows
ask of you,
what they might hold
that means you good
or ill.
It is not for me
to reckon
whether you should linger
or you should leave.

But this is what
I can ask for you:

That in the darkness
there be a blessing.
That in the shadows
there be a welcome.
That in the night
you be encompassed
by the Love that knows
your name.

What We’ll Do

  1. Listen to your story

  2. Make space for your soul to speak

  3. Move through spiritual readings & poems for reflection

  4. Invite honestly into areas of grief and seek healing

“I had an outstanding experience with Christie, whose somatic coaching approach and insightful guidance were instrumental in my growth. Her empathetic listening and support made space for vulnerable discussions about other challenges I was navigating. I highly recommend for anyone seeking transformative coaching.”
